Graduate of the Biosystems Engineering Program Conducts Outstanding Research for the Energy Transition

After completing her degree, Luisa Peterson had originally planned to leave Magdeburg. She returned to the city to pursue her doctorate. Now, together with her research team, she has been recognized for developing a new technology for storing renewable energy.
Leaving Magdeburg had actually already been decided. Luisa Peterson had given up her apartment and, after completing her degree in Biosystems Engineering, initially began a mandatory nine-month internship at the chemical and pharmaceutical company Merck in Darmstadt. There, she focused on estimating and modeling solubilities. However, while looking for a doctoral position, her path eventually led her back to the Elbe.
