Mit der Berufung des Verfahrenstechnikers Simon Stephan baut die Universität Magdeburg ihre Forschung für die industrielle Transformation aus. Der Ingenieur entwickelt Computermodelle, die das Verhalten von Stoffen und Stoffgemischen unter extremen Bedingungen voraussagen und schafft mit verlässlichen Berechnungen die Grundlagen dafür, effizientere Industrieprozesse, zum Beispiel in energieintensiven Chemieanlagen, zu gestalten.
From Gummy Bears to Tumor Cells
Noah Müller’s research focuses on testing new medical devices safely in the laboratory before they are used on animals or humans. He works in the Core Facility Tissue Engineering under the leadership of Prof. Heike Walles. Behind this lies an interdisciplinary field of research in which engineering, biology, and materials science come together. The goal is to create artificial tissue or even entire organ structures in the laboratory.
